Contact specific companies when applying for jobs

It is absolutely critical that job seekers take personal responsibility when they undertake the challenge of finding employment, as this process can take a significant amount of time and energy.

With job boards and postings literally all over the internet, it can be easy to fall into the trap of firing off dozens of resumes and applying for various positions that seem open in hopes of landing at least one interview.

However, one avenue that job seekers should consider looking into is seeking out a specific company that he or she wants to work at and contacting them to see if they have something available, even if it is not posted somewhere on the company's website.

By doing this, not only will the candidate display tremendous interest in the company, but he or she can also bypass hundreds of potential applicants if the firm is currently in the process of compiling a list of available positions.

Thus, while it can be tempting to scour the internet job boards for possible matches, one of the first things people should do is to determine which companies they would like to work for and contact them directly.
