Ilchi Lee : Laziness is an Illusion

Laziness is an Illusion

Many people use laziness as an excuse.
When asked about how things are going, they answer,
“Well, I have a natural disposition to be lazy, so”Even as they claim that fixing their lazy habits
would change their entire lives, they still
cling on to the illusion that they are “naturally lazy.”
To one such man, I suggested he take up rock climbing.

“Rock climbing might help me build muscle and boost my courage, but how can it help me get rid of my laziness?” he questioned.
Nonetheless, he started rock climbing.

When you hold on to a single rope with the weight of your whole body, your legs tremble and your whole body sweats.
There is a burning pain in your hands you grab hold of the rope.

This man would have normally given up at experiencing just one tenth of the pain, giving laziness as an excuse.
But he held on for his life and reached the top of the cliff.

Smiling at his own enlightenment, he said,
“As hard as it was, I could not let go of the rope.
Seeing myself holding onto the rope with all my might, I realized laziness is just an illusion.”
